Job Responsibilities
Polygraph Examiners will:
- Conduct Law Enforcement Pre-Employment Tests (LEPET) under NCCA-approved guidelines.
- Perform polygraph examinations in accordance with DEA and NCCA standards.
- Adhere to DEA-specific mentoring and training requirements.
- Ensure professionalism and integrity during all assignments.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Certification and Education:
- Current Federally Certified Polygraph Examiner.
- Proof of graduation from the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) or its predecessors: Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA) or Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI).
- Experience:
- At least 5 years conducting NCCA-approved LEPET polygraph examinations for a federally recognized agency.
- Integrity and Competency:
- No prior dismissals or findings that question integrity (e.g., “Giglio” concerns).
- Free of competency-related removals.
- Continuing Education:
- Maintain 80 hours of NCCA-approved Continuing Education (CE) every two years.
- Completion of NCCA-mandated countermeasures training and CE credits, with proof provided via transcripts.
- Professionalism:
- Adherence to DEA’s Polygraph Program Manual and NCCA standards.
- Conduct themselves professionally, with appropriate business attire during exams.
- Promote a positive and respectful workplace environment.
- Technical and Investigative Skills:
- Proficient in investigative techniques and administrative polygraph tasks.
- Computer literacy in email, word processing, and data entry software.
